Nerdery Week: Day 1
Well, it’s better late then never, right? I was in Madison, Wisconsin all weekend for a short getaway from life here in ol’ Woodbury. Anyway, no one cares about that. You know as well as I know that this is NERDERY WEEK here at Tappity Tappity and other blogs around the country/world/block.
Here, if you will, is a shot where ‘all the magic happens.’ Yep. This is my desk.
While I won’t spend this entire post detailing everything there, I wanted to point out some items of interest and see if you can find ’em. Think of it like those ‘Hidden Pictures’ things like they’ve got in Highlights magazine for kids. You know, except for awesome.
See if you can find:
– the fridge
– the short bus
– Boba Fett getting pulled into the Sarlaac Pit
– Goodhalo manuscript
– The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks
– 2 cans of Caffeine Free Diet Coke (that’s how I roll)
– 1 green slipper
That’s all I’m givin’ you for today/tonight Tappers. Think of it as a peek into the nerdy, nerdy nerdery of your favorite zombie children’s book author. Tomorrow we’ll peel away another layer and take you deeper into the place where you can feel 12 again…even if you’re 35.
Can’t get enough nerdery action? Check out some of these nerderies!
Dan @ This Man’s World
Matt @ Blue Birdland
Caryle @ Caryle’s Corner
More as they come in.
Hint: This is where you, dear reader come in. Shoot a quick shot of your place of blogging/nerding/writing/whatever, slap it on your blog place or LiveJournal and let us know about it. It’s going to be beyond cool.
Speaking of beyond cool, check out this picture I snapped whilst in Madison, WI. This was in a Ragstock on State Street. I’m sure the woman changing in the room two doors down was wondering what I was up to.
Don’t mind me, lady. I’m just documenting the zombie apocalypse.
Nerdery Week is going to rock the world, there is no doubt about it.
I’m loving IG-88 on the edge of the screen there. And I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that my buddy Matt is going to love your desktop wallpaper.
Every once in a while I think about the Sarlaac victims from Return of the Jedi; considering the movie came out in the eighties, those poor folks are still slowly being digested.
Come to think of it, I’m not sure the Saarlac survived the opening sequence. Hmmm, another reason to watch it all over again. Yay!
I’m also quite convinced my desk would be greatly enhanced by a mini-fridge. Of course, my real refrigerator is a whopping 20 feet away. Oh well. I always have my dreams.
Caffeine Free Diet Coke
Can that even be called Coke anymore?!
That said, love seeing where the magic happens. Everything looks so neat and organized and shiny! Puts me to shame.
Love the zombie note, hah!
So clean, so tidy, so not putting my hell hole up on the web for all to see.
Dan – Believe that! I’m actually excited to go home and document more nerdery goodness.
Caryle – You know, I never thought that ol’ Boba Fett is still being digested. Yikes. How much did it bug you (as it did me) that Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors became part of the Sarlaac Pit in the ‘Special Editions?’
Courtney – Read it n’ weep, sucka! I’ve been caffeine free for almost 3 years. Anyone who NEEDS caffeine is a slave! I just still like that cola taste, yo. Organized and shiny? Wha-wha??? My wife would definitely argue that…
CG/PR – Awww…and your hell hole would probably be 80x more interesting than my ‘neat and tidy’ nerdery. I don’t know if you can hear me, but I’m booing from across the pond.
Too clean. And yes, a mini-fridge would be nice.
You know how they have those 1/2 cans of soda, now?
Why don’t they have 1/2 cans of beer?
That is a seriously awesome desktop. Long live Indy!
