(Tap, Tap) Is This Thing On?

So yeah, it’s been a rough couple o’ weeks at the House of Troupe.

Firstly, we’ve been sick. Crazy sick. We’re talking something akin to the black plague, except without all the death and craziness. It was like a close second. Okay, maybe not, but still, it was pretty bad.

– My wife had pink eye for a good week.
– Travis barfed every half hour on the half hour.
– I got half-way to work the other day and got nauseous and had to come back home.
– All of our stomachs were doing stuff we’d prefer they didn’t.

It was ugly, ugly stuff. If asked to describe what the contents of one of my son’s diapers looked like during the ‘back-end’ of his sickness, the only description I could come up with was: Cake batter. Vanilla cake batter.

Yeah. It’s not supposed to look like that, is it?

So, I’m behind in a lot of things. I haven’t been posting as much, my editing productivity has gone down the ‘crapper’, and I’ve actually gotten tired of watching TV, taking naps, and (gasp!) playing my Xbox 360.

Who would’ve thought?

But, I feel a bit better today, so I’m back at work (hold your applause, please. it’s embarassing) and I think I’m ready for action.

I know, I know, I know I’m waaay late on my Tegan & Sara concert post, but it’s coming, I swear. It’s sure to disappoint, but I did get some pretty sweet pictures, so I’ll slap a couple of them up here too. Seriously, if you haven’t picked up their new album, The Con yet, you are missing out on the best album of the year. I kid you negative.

Let’s put it this way: Do you like the music in Grey’s Anatomy?

If you answered yes, then you need to know that Tegan & Sara’s music was prominently featured in Seasons 1 & 2 of the show. I suspect that Season 4 is chock full of cuts from the new album, but I have no idea. I’m still working through Season 3.

Yes. I watch the show. I’m not as big a fan as Laura (my wife), but I think it’s decent enough. Plus, I like to watch the surgeries. The problem I have with it is that it gets too personal for my tastes. How many of the surgeon’s parents have been in for surgeries in the last two years? How many of them are sleeping with one another? I mean, it’s turning into Friends. Pretty soon, Miranda Bailey is going to let Meredith’s dad, Thatcher Grey (see, I do watch it!) take her for a spin. C’mon!
In other news, Robotface Shumway (of Big Doofus Blog fame) and I were able to join forces through Xbox Live on Wednesday night in the world o’ Halo 3. It’s so great when complete strangers can run around like a couple of dumb kids, blasting everything in sight with reckless abandon. I played pretty crappy until I got my hands on the sword and then it…was…on.
Anyway, I’m rambling like some sort of jerk who’s acting like y’all missed me or something. Just know that I think I’m back in top form and hoping to maintain this dumb thing a little bit better.
Sure. Sure, I will.
