Catch Up
I swear I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet. I’ve just been working REALLY hard on getting my book into a 1st draft that I feel good about. I think I’m a week away from that happening. That’s not so bad.
In the last few days, I’ve had some major stuff happen in GOODHALO.
To be vague:
– A wicked character has emerged.
– A main character has died.
– All hope seems lost.
– My main character is spiraling deeper into darkness.
– A hero has taken a beating.
– A key plot point has been revealed.
I know it’s gonna need a lot of work in the 2nd and 3rd drafts, but I’m really pretty excited with the ‘skeleton’ of the story, all 200+ pages of it. Heck, I think it’ll be a blast to read it back after I finish it, print it up and bind it and let it sit in the drawer for a couple of months.
When I get my ‘fresh’ eyes on it, it’ll be fun as all get-out to edit and tweak to something closer to perfection.
(Hey, it’s a dream.)

Can I add to your plot points?
How about…
A food allergy develops
The hero falls asleep
A dog gets lost
A toothpick plays a key role
Your version sounds slightly more interesting, I have to admit.
Hilarious!
What’s funny is I actually dreamed up a story about a superhero who has a magical toothpick that gives him powers. I never wrote the crazy thing out, but there might still be something there.
I must be psychic?
