So Maybe Not So Much
I ended up getting that rejection from Michael Bourret this morning, which led me to realize a couple of things:
1. He must’ve REALLY been intrigued by the concept of my book. There are people that’ve been waiting for months to hear back from him and as far as I can tell, they’re still waiting.
2. He probably read the thing over the weekend. I don’t know if it was on the top of his pile o’ stuff to read, but he got through it. Or did he???
3. This probably wasn’t (as I suspected) THE thing to send to him. Goodhalo, my newest book, is more up his alley. For this reason I’m not completely crushed by the rejection.
Yes, I was hoping he would snap me up and we could talk about all my other projects and get the ball rolling. Yes, I was thinking he’d give me some insight as to what I could’ve done to improve on it. Yes, I was hoping my quest for an agent was over.
It’s not, though. I’m still trying my damndest to find the RIGHT person for the job.
Ugh. Back to the drawing board.
